About Voltpen

Voltpen was founded on a job site in 2011—born from real experience and a spark of necessity.

While working up ladders and in tight spaces as an electrician in Newcastle, Australia, Ryan Clarke realised there had to be a better, safer way to work. That idea grew into Voltpen: a compact 4-in-1 tool combining a non-contact voltage tester, bright LED torch, precision spirit level, and long-nib marking pen.

Ryan has worked in the electrical trade since 2001 across domestic, commercial, and industrial projects in Australia, London, and Bristol. His experience ranges from everyday residential jobs to large-scale work with companies such as Wavegarden Wavepool Specialists and Airbus Filton. That depth of hands-on knowledge shaped Voltpen into a practical, safe, and reliable tool designed for professionals everywhere.
